We had some very special visitors at Sunny Pointe today! The Northville Township Fire Department stopped by with one of their fire trucks to introduce our children to the trucks, the equipment, and the important work firefighters do every day to keep our community safe.
What the children learned
The firefighters opened up the truck’s compartments and showed the children the hoses, tools and gear they use on every call. The kids got an up-close look at the truck and learned that firefighters are friendly helpers, people they can trust and go to if they ever need help.
Visits like this help young children feel comfortable around firefighters and emergency vehicles, so the sights and sounds are familiar rather than scary. It’s also a great way to start simple safety conversations at home, like knowing what a smoke alarm sounds like and that firefighters are there to help.
Thank you, Northville Township Fire Department!
A big thank you to the Northville Township firefighters for taking the time to visit and answer so many curious questions. Our children had a wonderful time, and we’re grateful to have such caring neighbors serving our community.
